The Flaming Lips at Irving Plaza: Frequently Asked Questions
When are The Flaming Lips performing at Irving Plaza?
The Flaming Lips are scheduled to perform at Irving Plaza in New York on January 26 and January 27, 2027. Check the event listing and your ticket details for the date, door time, and any schedule updates before traveling.
What kind of concert can I expect?
The Flaming Lips are an alternative rock band known for adventurous, psychedelic sounds and theatrical live shows. Irving Plaza's approximately 1,025-person capacity offers a more intimate concert setting than a large arena. The exact production and set may vary by night.
How long is a typical Flaming Lips concert?
Concert length can vary by date and whether an opening act is scheduled. Allow several hours for the full event, including any support performance, set changes, and the headlining show. The event listing or venue announcements are the best sources for confirmed door and show times.
Are opening acts announced for these dates?
No opening act information is provided for the January 26 and 27 shows. Check the event details closer to the performance for updates; support acts and set times can be announced separately.
What are the best places to watch the show at Irving Plaza?
Most Irving Plaza events use a general-admission standing floor, with positions available on a first-come, first-served basis. Arriving early can help you choose a preferred view. Limited seating may be available depending on the event, and an ADA section is available for qualified patrons. Check the specific event information for the arrangements in effect on your date.
Is there a bad spot in the venue?
Irving Plaza is a compact venue, but views and comfort can differ across a standing room. The floor may become crowded near the stage, while farther-back positions offer more room but greater distance from the performers. If you need accessible seating or have mobility requirements, contact the venue in advance to confirm arrangements.
What is the age restriction for The Flaming Lips at Irving Plaza?
The age policy for these specific dates has not been provided. Age restrictions can vary by event, so confirm the rule on the event listing or with Irving Plaza before purchasing. Bring valid identification if required.
How much do The Flaming Lips tickets cost?
Prices currently start around $75, with resale prices potentially reaching $250 or more depending on availability, demand, and seat or ticket type. Prices can change as the event approaches. The displayed price and any applicable fees will be shown during checkout.
How can I get to Irving Plaza by subway?
Irving Plaza is at 17 Irving Place in Manhattan's Gramercy Park neighborhood. Union Square/14th Street is about a five-minute walk away and is served by the L, N, Q, R, W, 4, 5, and 6 trains. The N and R trains also stop at 23rd Street. Check current MTA service notices before setting out.
What are the parking options near Irving Plaza?

Public transit or rideshare is often more convenient. Rideshare pickup and drop-off are available on Irving Place near the venue.
Does Irving Plaza have a bag policy?
Bag rules can change and may be event-specific. Check Irving Plaza's current entry policy before leaving home, and plan to bring only a small bag if permitted. Venue security may inspect bags at entry, and prohibited items may be refused.
